VOICES ON THE INSIDE

On cloudy days…
I look up,
waiting,
I know the ray of sunshine
will not hide from me
I just have to keep
Looking up.

When the darkness descends…
I look up,
waiting,
I know if I just hold on
I won’t be alone for long
thousands of twinkling eyes
will look down on me
following my steps

At times my fear grows
my strength wanes
I have to remind myself

dark lonely road

Though angry eyes at one time
surrounded me
I was shown
Kind ones were also
staring back at me.

I keep looking up.

I’ve learned to walk
with my head held high,
